Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO), the largest oil marketing company of Pakistan, has pledged PKR 10 million to LUMS. The donation will support meritorious undergraduate students currently enrolled under the National Outreach Programme (NOP), a prestigious scholarship at LUMS offered to underprivileged students across Pakistan with exceptional academic records.
An agreement signing ceremony between the PSO CSR Trust and LUMS was held at the University's campus in Lahore. Mr. Shahzad Safdar, Trustee, PSO CSR Trust, and Ms. Tara Uzra Dawood, Member, PSO Board of Management, jointly presented the cheque to Dr. Arshad Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, LUMS. Officials from both organisations and the beneficiary students were also present at the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Ms Tara Uzra Dawood, Member, PSO Board of Management said:
"At PSO, we believe that access to education can positively change the lives of individuals and their families. As such, education has the potential to transform the future of our country. I feel privileged to be present at the signing ceremony between the country's two leading organisations. This initiative, along with the NOP programme at LUMS will go a long way in the lives of the beneficiary students and their families."
Expressing his views, Mr Shahzad Safdar, Trustee, PSO CSR Trust said:

Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Vice Chancellor of LUMS, said:

Under the LUMS's scholarship programme funded by PSO CSR Trust, the company has sponsored 10 deserving students to help them pursue their higher education at Pakistan's most prestigious university. |
