PSO celebrates Eid with flood victims

Whilst the worst-ever floods to devastate the nation has left millions stranded and displaced from their native hometowns, Pakistan State Oil has risen to the occasion to fulfill its civic and social duty in the face of this humanitarian disaster. The Company has set up 50 camps in the area of Steel Mill Colony where all necessary needs of the displaced are being fulfilled. In addition to providing them with the basic amenities, PSO reached out to over 350 people residing in these camps and distributed eid gifts amongst the children. The gesture was well received by the victims many of whom had nothing to celebrate this eid.

Many families that received the gifts were forthcoming in praising the efforts of the Company highlighting the fact that in these times of misery, PSO had remembered them and provided much needed relief and happiness. The displaced children in these camps were jubilant to receive eid gifts from PSO.

Irfan Qureshi, Managing Director PSO, said that in this hour of crisis PSO stands by the nation and feels that it is the responsibility of the entire nation to remember those who have been affected in the worst-ever humanitarian disaster.

Interacting with the PSO management at the occasion an elderly displaced person said: “we have lost everything in the floods. This Ramadan has been difficult for us. My family is thankful that PSO remembered us and gave our children some happiness in these difficult times.”

Pakistan State Oil has been consistently deploying its relief efforts in different parts of the country and has so far donated over Rs. 50 million for provision of necessary rations and relief items to the displaced families. The MD also pledged further support in rehabilitation of the affectees.
