The employees of Pakistan State Oil have voluntarily donated their one day salary in the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for Internally Displaced People (IDP) of Swat, Malakand and other affected parts of NWFP. In addition to this the Company is also making efforts to arrange for water tanks and other life essentials for the displaced people.
This was announced by the Managing Director PSO Mr. Irfan K. Qureshi on Friday. Mr. Qureshi said that being the largest OMC in Pakistan, PSO will act as a conscientious corporate citizen in this hour of need. In the past PSO played an exemplary role during the Earthquake 2005 rescue operation and during other natural calamities. Company’s efforts in this regard were greatly appreciated in the country.
The corporate sector should come forward and play a role for relief of 1.5 million people who are going through a tough phase of life. At this point of time we should give complete support to the government. Mr. Qureshi added. PSO’s management and employees including CBA representatives have expressed concerns over the plight of displaced people and have expressed their commitment to help their brothers during the present crises situation.
