Karachi April 29, 2008: Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has extended help to the Child Aid Association through a significant financial support for its children Oncology unit and other free of cost health facilities, located in National Institute of Child Health (NICH), Karachi.
The Child Aid Association is a voluntary Organization which provides assistance to the poor patients of the National Institute of Child Health. In 1999 the Association established the first Pediatric Oncology Unit at the National Institute of Child Health. The association has been providing free treatment to all patients coming from all over Pakistan. At present on an average 160 patients receive treatment every day.
Muhammad Abdul Aleem Managing Director PSO said "being a socially conscientious company we feel that Child Aid Association has put up an outstanding effort to provide health care facilities to the under privileged section of our society. PSO has extended help to many such organizations and we hope that our support to Child Aid Association will help them in meeting their objectives more effectively".
Child Aid Association has recently established an all important Cytogenetic Laboratory which provides free diagnostic facility to the children under treatment and is now making concerted efforts to make arrangements to start Bone Marrow Transplantation at the pediatric oncology unit at the NICH |
