PSO intensifies CSR drive

Pakistan State Oil (PSO), the largest public sector organization, intensified its CSR drive by pledging support through donations to stakeholders across the platforms of healthcare, education and community building. The energy company in an effort to uplift communities and adopt greater social responsibility distributed cheques amongst representatives of Negahban Welfare Association, Family Education Services and Sindh Football Association at PSO House.

At the ceremony held at PSO House, Irfan Qureshi, MD PSO distributed a cheque to Negahban Welfare Association which will be used to install a state-of-the-art endoscopy machine at Civil Hospital. The installation of the new machine will greatly enhance the healthcare systems in place at Civil Hospital and will translate as better medical facilities for the under-privileged.

Addressing the participants of the ceremony, Irfan Qureshi said: “PSO is not only proud to be a crucial enabler in energizing the economy of Pakistan but also feels strongly about its duty towards the social dimensions of the communities where it operates. As the largest public sector organization we are fully cognizant of our national, social and moral obligations and are determined to making a positive difference in the lives and economic well-being of society.”

During the ceremony, donations were also handed out to Family Education Services and Sindh Football Association respectively. Family Education Services is an NGO that provides academic and skills training to help deaf students optimize their opportunities. The amount donated by PSO will be used for facilitating education and transportation of the under privileged deaf children whom the NGO looks after. The financial support to Sindh Football Association will enable it to organize “All Sindh Football Tournament” and channel the energies of the youth in a positive manner.

PSO has come a long way in terms of deploying CSR initiatives and will continue to play its role in contributing towards the nation’s economic progress and prosperity. As an enabler, PSO will continuously enrich as many lives as possible.
