Quality Assurance

Quality of product is one of the important force leading to organizational success and plays a pivotal role for the customer satisfaction.

PSO has a Quality Assurance Department who ensures product quality throughout the supply chain against approved specifications by the concerned authorities and provides technical services for testing of POL products, through state-of-art Laboratories and Mobile Quality Testing Vans across the country.

  • Monitoring fuel quality at receipt i.e. imports/local refineries.

  • Checking at the time of transshipment from location to location.

  • Random sampling/testing at Retail Outlets through Mobile Vans.

Mobile Quality Testing Units (MQTU)

PSO is the pioneer of Mobile Quality testing vans in Pakistan. This journey was started in 1998 with 03 Vans and were initially deputed in major cities of Pakistan i.e. Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

At present, we have 23 MQTUs across the country which is the largest fleet in the industry, the objective of MQTUs is to check and monitor the quality and quantity of products being delivered to Retail / Industrial customers and randomly visits Operations locations for checking of petroleum products at installations and depots. MQTUs check the product against the critical test parameters of particular product which further enhances customer satisfaction level.

Stationary Laboratories

Ensure that each consignment of petroleum product received from refineries, imported via oceanic tankers and products manufactured at Lubricant Plants meets approved specification.

Stationary laboratories at Twelve (12) locations (Keamari Terminal “A”, Lubricant Manufacturing Terminal, Zulfiqarabad Oil Terminal, Shikarpur Installation, Lalpir Depot, Machike Installation, Faisalabad Depot, Sihala Installation, Tarujabba Depot, Chakpirana Depot, Quetta Depot, Shershah Depot) are equipped to cater wide range of POL products. Testing is conducted as per International Standards like, American Society for Testing and Material (ASTM) and British Institute of Petroleum (IP).
