PSO Marketing Conference Held to Review Performance

Karachi, November 3, 2008: PSO’s marketing conference was held in Karachi on November 3rd, 2008. This conference was attended by the senior management of the company along with divisional managers, departmental heads, field staff and senior field staff. The objective of this yearly conference is to review the targets, performance of each business unit and further outline the strategies and tactics to address the business challenges.

Presentations were made by various business unit heads and divisional managers highlighting the achievements of FY-08 and first quarter FY09. This was an interactive session which led to positive input from employees at various levels.

In the financial year 2009, the PSO management vowed to sustain its market share in various business segments with more focus in the lubricants segment. Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director, Mr. Kalim Siddiqui  said that in light of the current economic difficulties the country is facing, Pakistan State Oil needs to raise its bar of performance by revisiting its business strategies. He further added that the PSO needed to further gear up its efforts to address the future energy challenges of the country which is only possible if we work with more intensity and enthusiasm.
