|PSO supports Liyari - Baloch Football Team|
Pakistan State Oil (PSO) the largest energy provider in the country makes regular noteworthy efforts towards Corporate Social Responsibility. In that light, the Managing Director PSO, Irfan Qureshi, invited the Young Baloch Football team to PSO House and presented a cheque to Chairman, Young Baloch Football Club, Mr. Murad Bux in an effort to engage the youth of Lyari in the sport.
On this occasion, MD PSO stated that the company would be further supporting the underprivileged youth of Liyari and similar areas and engage them in healthy sports. He further said that this initiative would go a long way and the company would try its best to groom these football players for national and then international levels.
Diverting the youth towards more worthwhile options that focus their aggressive energies in a positive manner not only serves to maintain peace in the area but also sets the scale for PSO’s efforts in youth development programs.
The Young Baloch Football team has a number of hardy football players who, if provided the right support could take the game forward. Football is a game that may be labeled as a legacy of Lyari, and these youngsters, based on their natural inclination towards the sport, are naturally drawn towards it. PSO’s involvement in such community development initiatives speaks of its involvement towards betterment of downtrodden masses in pockets of the city forgotten by many and is a reflection of its vibrant CSR philosophy and culture.
